Wayne V. Tornowski, 89, of Roberts, passed away at 6:20 a.m. Friday April 14, 2023 at the Gibson Area Hospital-Annex. His funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday April 18, 2023 at Rosenbaum Funeral Home in Gibson City. Pastor Priscilla Geerdes officiating. Burial with military honors to follow at Lyman Township Cemetery in Roberts. Memorial contributions may be made to The Roberts Gym Fund or to the Roberts-Melvin Fire Protection District.

Wayne was born August 17, 1933 in Roberts. A son of August and Emma A. (Muehlenpfort) Tornowski. He married Wanda J. Corkill on April 21, 1956 in Roberts.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years Wanda Tornowski of Roberts, daughter Jill (Michael) Owen of Charleston and son-in-law Dan Boyce of Loda. Six grandchildren Jade Owen, Jace Owen, Shelley (Paul) Lindauer, Jodie (Josh) Harmon, Brad (Jaime) Smith, Randy (Chelsee) Smith and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death  by two daughters Jan Trimmer and Joy Boyce, grandson Dustin Robert Boyce, five sisters and one brother.

Wayne was a United States Army Veteran and member of the Roberts American Legion. He was a Gasoline Broker for many years, working for Hicks Gas for twenty-seven years. He then started his own company Sterling Oil. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards. He had a smile that lit up a room. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
