Melba J. Walton, 79, of Gibson City peacefully passed away at 10:38 am Friday December 10, 2021 at home with her family at her side. Visitation will be held 11:00am-12:00pm Tuesday December 21, 2021 at the Gibson City Bible Church. A graveside service will follow at Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gibson City Bible Church.
Melba was born October 21, 1942 in Saybrook a daughter of Henry and Gladys Melba (Vinson) Nunamaker. She married David Walton Sr. on July 28, 1959 in Paxton. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2018. They were married fifty-nine years.
She is survived by her children – David Walton Jr. of Gibson City, Kimberly (Alan) Anderson of Gibson City and Penny (Philip) McGuire of Nashville, Indiana. Four grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Also, two brothers Loren Nunamaker of Arkansas, Neil (Betsy) Nunamaker of Frankfort, IL and three sisters Lois Berry of Springfield, Lyla Miller of Bellflower and Gayle Beckner of Frazee, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by three sisters Eileen, Wanda and Cathy.
Melba enjoyed putting together puzzles and she attended Gibson City Bible Church. In her younger years she was in a band and played a rhythm guitar and sang. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren to Miller Park Zoo. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
