Larry W. Smith, 82, of Bayles Lake Loda passed away at 5:20 am Wednesday August 25, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. A Celebration of Life Open House will be held 1:00-5:00 pm Sunday August 29, 2021 at the Elliott Amvets in Elliott. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital.

Larry was born August 30, 1938 in Elliott. A son of Elmer and Stella Wagoner Smith. He married Karen K. Gee on October 8, 1960 in Gibson City she passed away February 14, 1987. He then married Karen A. Gee on September 4, 1993. She survives in Loda. Also, surviving are his children Teresa Gardner of Elliott; Jodi (Jim) Hendricks of Fayettville, Arkansas; Billy (Jill) Smith of Elliott, Vinne Gee II (deceased), and Eric (Pam) Gee of Gibson City. Nine grandchildren: Abby Hendricks, Kaylyn Busch, Tyler (Kara) Smith, Gabe Gardner, Trevor (Erin Bittner) Smith, JJ (Julia Roberts) Gardner, Nick Smith, Matt (Emily) Jamison, and Missy Jamison, and nine great grandchildren and his sister Bobbi Johnson of Elliott. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings.

Larry was a member of the Gibson City Masonic Lodge #733 AF & AM, the Bloomington Consistory and the Corn Belt Shrine Club. He enjoyed hunting,
golfing and sitting on his deck at the lake. He loved his family and looked forward to summer get togethers at the lake. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
