Kimmie Johnston

Kimmie R. Johnston, 67, of Gibson City peacefully passed away at 3:50 am Thursday September 14, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday September 22, 2023 at Rosenbaum Funeral Home in Gibson City with Pastor Nick Carlson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services. Burial will be at Drummer Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Kimmie was born August 2, 1956 in Monticello a daughter of Robert J. and Irene L. Morris Ensign. She married Kenneth Kirk on May 19, 1973. She later married Raymond Johnston on January 1, 2009 in Gibson City.

She is survived by her husband Raymond Johnston of Gibson City. Four wonderful and caring daughters Robin Kirk of Gibson City, Melissa (Christopher) Schultze of Mooresville, North Carolina, Nicole Blanck of Gibson City and April (Charles) Snook of Toledo, Washington. Nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also, five siblings Ricky (Debbie) Ensign of Gibson City, Teddy (Colleen) Ensign of Denver, Colorado, Penny (Curtis) Warner of Gibson City, Patsy Ensign of Gibson City and Johnny Ensign of Gibson City. She was preceded in death by parents and an older brother.

Kimmie was a member of New Beginnings Church in Gibson City. She was an Illinois basketball and football fan and cheered for the New England Patriots with her grandson. Kimmie was the happiest when she was with her family.
