Joy D. Boyce, 63, of Loda formerly of Gibson City peacefully passed away at 3:15am Wednesday February 22, 2023 at the Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday February 27, 2023 at Rosenbaum Funeral Home in Gibson City with Pastor Priscilla Geerdes officiating. Burial will be at Lyman Township Cemetery in Roberts. A gathering of friends and family will take place at 5:00pm at the Lee Lowery American Legion Post #568 in Gibson City. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to the Gibson Area Hospital Foundation.

Joy was born October 31, 1959 in Fairbury a daughter of Wayne V. and Wanda J. (Corkill) Tornowski. She married Daniel R. Boyce September 7, 1985 in Roberts.

She is survived by her husband and best friend Dan Boyce of Loda. Her parents Wayne and Wanda Tornowski of Roberts, sister Jill (Michael) Owen of Charleston and their children Jade and Jace Owen. Also, nieces Shelley (Paul) Lindauer, Jodie (Josh) Harmon and nephews Brad (Jaime) Smith and Randy (Chelsee) Smith;   and her beloved dog Baxter. She was preceded in death by a son Dustin Robert Boyce and a sister Jan Trimmer.

Joy graduated from Ford Central High School in 1977. She alongside of her husband owned and operated Dan & Joy’s restaurant in Gibson City for ten years. Joy would greet you with her beautiful smile and always made sure you were well taken care of. She then went to work for Alliance Grain for almost twenty-two years where she made many friends. Spending time with family and friends was very important to Joy. She was happiest when she was with Dan in Florida. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
