John Heiser

John B. Heiser, 62, of Fisher peacefully passed away at 11:50 pm Sunday September 17, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. A graveside Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday September 23, 2023 at East Bend Memorial Gardens in rural Fisher. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, Jesus is The Way Prison Ministry or Seek and Find Ministries. 

John was born May 22, 1961 in Champaign a son of Merle and Edith Wiens Heiser. He married Lisa M. Rogers on November 23, 1990.

He is survived by his wife Lisa Heiser of Fisher, their son Jake Heiser of Fisher, his mother Edith Heiser of Gibson City and his sister Cleona (Dean) Swartzentruber of Johnson City, TN. He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters Karen Heiser and Carol Nunn.

John is a 1979 graduate of Fisher High School. After graduation he began his life-long career as a farmer. He served on the board of directors of the Fisher Farmers Grain & Coal and the Farm Bureau. He enjoyed a good tractor pulling event, spending time with his dog, Cocoa and was a collector of model trains and toy tractors.
