James L. "JJ" Jamison Jr., 61, of Elliott, formerly of Chatsworth, died at 2:30pm on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.
His funeral service will be 11:00 am on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the Gibson City Bible Church in Gibson City with Pastor Paul Thomason officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 am, prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be in Elliott Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Carle Hospice Program.
JJ was born on April 23, 1957 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, a son of James L. and Alta Smith Jamison Sr.. He married Shirley Turner on April 24, 1976 in Pennsylvania. He later married Debbie Lockwood on July 2, 1992 in Newark, Ohio.
Surviving are his wife, Debbie Jamison of Elliott; his children, Shelly Jamison of California, Melissa (Shawn Holmes) Bonnivier of Pontiac, Angela (Tony) Carter-Slager of Waterloo, WI, Trisha (Sam) Carter-Wright of Harriman, TN and Jay (Kari) Carter of Weldon; fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
JJ was a forklift driver at Homeshield in Chatsworth for thirty years. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially Tony Stewart. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, tinkering in the garage and was always willing to help anyone in need. JJ especially enjoyed being around his family and friends.
