Gladys Darlene Ryan, 88, of Gibson City formerly of Foosland died at 11:05 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Gibson Area Hospital-Annex.

Her funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Rosenbaum Funeral Home in Gibson City with Pastor Paul Thomason officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00-1:00 p.m. prior to her services at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery, in rural Mahomet. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gibson Area Hospital-Annex or to the American Cancer Society.

Darlene was born on June 15, 1930 in Cheney Grove Township a daughter of Richard and Erma Barrett Dean.

She is survived by her children, Kevin Ryan of Foosland and Kenna (Mike) McCall of Gibson City; eight grandchildren, Tom (Sarah) McCall, Jenny (Scott) Davis, Chase (Kelsey) McCall, Seth McCall, Brandon (Jordan) Ryan, Dustin Ryan, Travis Ryan and Courtney Ryan; seven great grandchildren and her sister, Shelby Sommer of Foosland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Darlene was a switchboard operator for Illinois Bell and a waitress at the Cozy Corner in Fisher for many years as well as a dietary aid at the Heritage Manor in Gibson City for 38 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Foosland/Bellflower and was very active in their women's club.
