Colin Andrew Bane, 17, of Gibson City passed away Wednesday May 18, 2022 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in McLean County. Visitation will be held 2:00-6:00 pm Monday May 23, 2022 at the Gibson City Bible Church. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 pm with Pastor Gary Fairchild officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fisher GCMS Soccer Team.
Colin was born March 18, 2005 in Gibson City. A son of Brian E. and Melissa Jo Roeder Bane.
He is survived by his parents Brian and Melissa Bane of Gibson City, three siblings Koree (Kyle) Watson of Buckley, Clayton (Kalista Klann) Bane of Champaign, and Cale Bane of Gibson City. He was a proud uncle to Carsyn and Cayzlee. Also surviving are his paternal grandfather Elbert “Bud” Bane of Gibson City, maternal grandmother Terry (Ken) Fox of Edcouch, Texas and maternal grandfather Danny (Linda) Roeder of Onarga, maternal great grandmother Phyllis Allison of Paxton. He was loved by many friends and his girlfriend Natalie DeSchepper whom he absolutely adored and loved.
Colin just finished his junior year at GCMS High School. He was a proud starting Fisher GCMS Soccer player wearing #2 and couldn’t wait until the next season to start. He loved to cook, and was the current kitchen manager at Burgers & Beer in Gibson City. He was a FCA Power Camp Huddle Leader, FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) member, and formerly a part of the GCMS Basketball Team. Colin enjoyed rooting for the Columbia Blue Jackets Hockey Team. He had an incredible sweet tooth, and he loved his iced coffee and playing video games. His smile lit up a room, and he will be forever missed by all that knew and loved him.
