Charles W. Bonny, 89, of Loda passed away on Monday October 24th, 2022 at 6:20 p.m. at the Farmer City Rehab Center. A celebration of life and military rites will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
Charles was born August 8, 1933 in Bloomington. A son of Donald and Ruby (Williams) Bonny. He married Berniece Knakmuhs in Parkersburg, IL in 1956.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, his daughter Susan (Joe) Hale of Saybrook, daughter in law Kimberly Bonny of Gibson City, and one brother Dwayne (Gisela) Bonny. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his son Mark Bonny, three brothers Bud, Bob, and Marvin Bonny, and his sister Betty Huss.
Charles worked for General Electric as a tool and dye maker for 33 years. He was a proud United States Marine Veteran where he received a purple heart, and was a bronze star recipient. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and you could always find him tinkering with machinery. Charles will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
