Alma Stipp, 100, of Gibson City, peacefully passed away July 16, 2022 at the Fairview Haven Nursing Home in Fairbury. Visitation will be held 10:00-11:30 am Saturday July 23, 2022 at Rosenbaum Funeral Home in Gibson City with funeral services to follow at 11:30 a.m. with Jon Knochenmus, Matt Jensen and Brian Wagler officiating. Burial will be at Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City.
Alma was born December 18, 1921 in Eldred. A daughter of Elmore H. and Melissa H. (Shaw) Smith. She married Hubert S. Stipp on September 25, 1942 in New London, Missouri. He passed away January 5, 2007.
She is survived by two sons Edgar Stipp of Ottumwa, Iowa and Stephen (Julie) Stipp of Fairbury. Three daughters Naomi Ruble of Nebo, Velda (Stephen) Holloway of Pasco, Washington and Doris (Alvin) Loyd of Scheller. Eighteen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, three sisters, a son-in-law, daughter-in-law and a grandson.
Alma farmed along-side her husband and was a talented seamstress, baker and cook. She had a bountiful garden and canned her harvest to be enjoyed through the winter. She was very proud of her large family and cherished every moment that she spent with them. She will be greatly missed.
