Alfred "Alfie" Landau

 

Alfred “Alfie” Ott Landau, 74, of Gibson City passed away at 7:47 p.m. on Monday August 14, 2023 at Goldwater Care in Gibson City. Visitation will be held 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday August 21, 2023 at Rosenbaum Funeral Home in Gibson City followed by funeral services at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Goldwater Care activity fund, Anchor Lutheran Church Cemetery, or the GCMS Booster Club.

 

Alfie was born on April 9, 1949 in Champaign, Illinois a son of Alva and Ethel Wise Landau. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister who he affectionately called “Sissy”.

 

He is survived by extended family and many friends whom he considered as family. Alfie worked at Electronics in Gibson City where he never missed a day of work and then later worked at County Market where he greeted every customer with a friendly smile and never knew a stranger. He was a devoted GCMS sports fan and was even inducted into the Friends of the Hall of Fame. He traveled with the TNT men’s softball team and hardly missed a chance to watch Kevin Weaver race on the dirt track. He was a member of many bowling leagues and winning many trophies and championships. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, and a committed snow cone maker at the Shriners’ Kid’s Day. He will be missed by all that knew him and loved him………He Loved You Too.

 

A special thanks extended to the staff at Heritage Health/Goldwater Care for love and care extended to Alfie over the years. Also, to Transitions Hospice for their care given.
